A comprehensive digital platform for a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting military veterans and their families. The website serves as a central hub for community outreach, merchandise sales, and donation processing while connecting heroes with the communities they protect.
The Challenge
Welcome Home Military Heroes needed to establish a meaningful digital presence to support their mission of honoring veterans. Starting from scratch in 2008 with no existing website, the nonprofit required a platform that could grow alongside their expanding programs. As the organization evolved, they needed eCommerce capabilities to sell branded merchandise and accept donations, while maintaining a welcoming online experience that reflects the respect and gratitude at the heart of their mission.
Our Approach
We began with a foundational WordPress site that captured the organization's mission and provided essential information about their programs and events. As the nonprofit's needs grew, we implemented WooCommerce to enable online sales of clothing and accessories, along with a streamlined donation system. The platform now supports their complete digital ecosystem, including companion sites for the annual Veterans Golf Classic and Military Care Packages initiatives. With ongoing hosting and maintenance support, we continue to optimize the site while planning a comprehensive redesign featuring a custom Mission Request system for accepting, tracking, and managing veteran support requests with Outlook calendar integration.
